Real Weddings: Morgan and John's Fall Boho Glam Wedding

We love when we get to interview our brides and they share some behind the scenes info-like how they got engaged and tips/tricks for planning weddings. These two got engaged at Cheekwood in Nashville-which also happens to be where I planned several weddings when I was a full-time planner in Nashville. It is such a beautiful place, and I loved that these two got engaged there!

This bride’s dreamy fall bohemian wedding was nothing short of fabulous. We are swooning over all the details, especially their sweetheart table complete with a neon wedding sign with their new last name, as well as their sweet dog who was part of their day here.

We recommend to our couples to take some time after the ceremony to spend a quiet moment together. I love how Morgan and John escaped to our Bridal Suite and had time together before their reception.

We interviewed Morgan and asked her to share some details with us about her and John’s big day here!

Tell us the short story of how you met one another.

Honestly, hardly anyone knows how we REALLY met! Not even my parents lol! John messaged me on Facebook back in 2014 and I replied. The rest is history! We tell people we met at a high school football game and had mutual friends!

Tell us about the proposal!

John proposed at Cheekwood in Nashville, TN on May 5th, 2019. I knew it was going to happen that weekend, I just didn’t know how he was going to do it! We were in Murfreesboro the day before to celebrate my sister graduating from MTSU, and were planning on going to church with them the next morning. John took me to Cheekwood instead! The botanical gardens there were beautiful! I didn’t even know the place existed and was impressed John found it!

What was the most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Oh gosh..just one moment?? After the ceremony, me and John went up to the bridal suite and just looked at each other and we BOTH went in for a high five haha! It’s crazy how we know what the other is thinking all the time!

Why did you choose White Oak Farms?

I knew I wanted to get married at White Oak! It was the first and only venue we looked at! I loved the modern white barn vs a rustic look!

In a few words describe your theme or style for your wedding. (Ie- Boho, Glam, Rustic, Etc.)

Is there anything else you can tell us about your love story?

It didn’t take us long to fall in love and I knew just after a couple months of dating that he was the one I was going to marry! He is the funniest person I know. I’m super quiet so I think we balance each other out!

Is there anything else you think future couples will find interesting / helpful about your wedding? (Ie - planned from out of state, a must have was your dog in the ceremony, etc.)

Just know that it’s YOUR day to do whatever you want! I really wanted my dog there and I was told so many times not to worry about having her there. I’m so glad she was! I couldn’t imagine her not being there, she’s my little girl! Also, me and John did not want alcohol at our wedding! My family doesn’t drink and neither do me and John. So we didn’t want a huge band with dancing either! I was worried about not having music while people were eating, but it was fine! Everyone was talking and had a great time without music and alcohol!
